Summer Staff Selected for ATC Institute 2024

After a rigorous selection process, Arkansas Teacher Corps has finalized summer staff for the 2024 Institute, scheduled for June 2-July 12, 2024. Led by full-time ATC Director of Coaching Jamie Powell and Director of Teacher Development Kendra Ide, the summer staff work together to plan and execute the full six-week summer institute.

  • Alexis Brooks (mentor) is a 2022 ATC fellow and has taught elementary (K-6) education for four years. She is currently teaching 3rd grade at Stewart Elementary in Forrest City. Alexis also served as a summer mentor in 2023.
  • Ava Hollins-Rogers (facilitator) is a 2020 ATC fellow and has taught elementary (K-6) education for four years. She is currently teaching 6th grade math at Maddux Elementary School in West Memphis. Ava also served as a summer mentor in 2021.
  • Daniel Matlock (intern) is a 2023 ATC fellow and has taught middle school (4-8) social studies for one year. He is currently teaching 7th and 8th grade social studies at Exalt Academy in Little Rock.
  • Devin Guillory (mentor) is a 2022 ATC fellow and has taught secondary (7-12) science for two years. She is currently teaching 11th and 12th grade chemistry at Pine Bluff High School in Pine Bluff.
  • Freda Calloway (mentor) is a 2020 ATC fellow and has taught secondary (7-12) English Language Arts for four years. She is currently teaching ELA at McGehee High School in McGehee. Freda also served as a summer mentor in 2023 and as a content facilitator for 2022-23 and 2023-24.
  • Jazmin Berlanga-Medina (mentor) is a 2018 ATC fellow and has taught secondary (7-12) math for six years. She is currently teaching physics at Memphis Rise Academy in Memphis, TN. Jazmin also served as a content facilitator for 2022-23 and 2023-24.
  • Lamario Bell (mentor) is a 2023 ATC fellow and has taught secondary (7-12) ELA and music for six years. He is currently teaching 5th-8th grade music at Osceola Middle School in Osceola. Dr. Bell also holds an Ed.D. in higher education administration.
  • Lamesha Mitchell (mentor) is a 2022 ATC fellow and has taught elementary (K-6) education for three years. She is currently teaching kindergarten at Murrell Taylor Elementary in Jacksonville.
  • Marquita Holmes (mentor) is a 2022 ATC fellow and has taught elementary (K-6) art for five years. She is currently teaching art at Stewart Elementary in Forrest City.
  • Nneka Love (assistant director of coaching) is a 2019 ATC fellow and has taught elementary (K-6) education for five years. She is currently teaching kindergarten at Anna Strong Learning Academy in Marianna. Nneka also served as a summer mentor in 2022 and 2023.
  • Susie O’Neal (mentor) is a 2021 ATC fellow and has taught career and technical education for three years. She is currently teaching 7th and 8th grade career development at Blytheville Middle School in Blytheville.
  • Tory Cottle (facilitator) is a 2015 Teach For America corps member and taught secondary (7-12) science for four years in Helena-West Helena. She is currently the Director of Instruction and Secondary Education at Memphis School of Excellence in Memphis, TN. Tory also served as a summer mentor in 2021 and as a content facilitator for 2019-20, 2020-21, and 2021-22.
